Make Up

I’ve been noticeably absent – I know.  Things have been pretty insane in these parts.  I just wrapped up week two of my new job and it’s been tiring.  I spend most of the day doing a whole bunch of nothing, so my days drag.  I’m anxious to get the ball rolling on some good training so I can actually do something.

On top of that excitement – Craig was offered (and accepted!) a new position, too!  He will start with the new company a week from tomorrow.  We’re both really excited about what this means for him and this career.  But yes, that much excitement has worn me out like you wouldn’t believe.

I cope with change pretty easily, I mean, how could I not considering the last few years I’ve had.  But, it still wears me out.  This chica needs a vacation!

SocialSundayButton31. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
Middle school!  I used those Clinque eye pencils – these days I can’t bear to use a pencil on my face, I’m more of a no-wood kinda girl.

makeup favorites2. What are your top 3 favorite beauty products?
My tarte blush in ‘exposed’, the perfect color for me!  Arbonne mattifying powder, it’s white, so it goes on “clear.”  It’s just super great for keeping my face shine-free for the day. And the tarte foundation.

3. What is one makeup product you don’t leave home without?
Chapstick.  Any time I’ve not had it (like last night at Craig’s Christmas party) I desperately need it.

4. What is your daily beauty routine?
Wash and lotion my face, foundation/eye make up, and at night I take off my eye make up with a Nuetrogena makeup remover and my face make up with Olay towelettes (in picture above).

5. What is your favorite hair/makeup product you’ve discovered in the last year?
I’ve used Deva Curl for years now, it’s by far the best product for gals with crazy, curly hair like me.  But, I recently started using their Frizz Free Volumizing Foam over the Angel gel.  The foam is  so much better for me  – it’s lighter weight and not sticky (in picture above).  My hair is so fine that I need something light!

Here’s a look at makeup that gets used on an almost daily basis –

everyday makeup

  1. Hey, I’ve got crazy, curly, fine hair too! I’m desperately in need of new hair products because what I have just isn’t working for me anymore, and I definitely think I’m going to try the Deva Curl stuff you mentioned

    1. You should! I highly recommend those products! I use the no-poo shampoo and the conditioner and I love it. I used the Angel gel for the longest time and I liked it, but the foam is just perfect for me! There are stylists that do “deva cuts.” Best hair cut I’ve ever had, too. I’ve had some TERRIBLE cuts before, but they do dry cuts and they’re fab!

  2. Heh. Mine’s baby fine and mats like cotton candy. Read the hair-do post from my wedding. Ouch.

I’ve been following the curly girl method, sort of. I have been washing my hair once a week with shampoo and then rinse well with conditioner the rest of the time. By Friday, my hair doesn’t feel as find and it isn’t as fly away! The rest of the make-up? Meh. I’m not a make up for every day girl. I have *snort* natural beauty! LMFAO!!

    1. It’s so funny how our hair becomes such a ‘science’!!! And I will totally go a weekend without makeup, but I just can’t make myself go without if I’m going to work. Probably a confidence thing? Chris, you ARE beautiful! And I wish I had the same confidence to go without makeup more often!
