Right now, we are headed north to the Green Bay Packer home opener for the season. I’m pretty sure Craig slept terribly last night in anticipation of today. And while just last week I admitted that I’m not a hardcore fan by any stretch of the imagination, I will amend that by saying that attending the games is a total game-changer for me. I love going to sporting events. I know there are loyal fans everywhere – but I really think there is something different about Wisco events (please note I haven’t been to a SEC game, I’ve heard they are insannnnnne). Other places I have attended games like Denver and Nashville, yeah, they don’t hold a candle to the energy found in Wisconsin stadiums. The energy that comes with attending a Packer game makes it more than just attending a game, it’s really an experience. I’m so excited!
So, while I’m probably on my third or fourth beer, you can enjoy Sunday Social! …okay, it’s only 8am, I’m probably not enjoying a beer yet, but perhaps a Bloody Mary?
1. What is the name if your blog?
What The Efff
2. What do you love most about blogging?
I’ve made connections with people I’ve never met in real life. Real connections. I think that’s so neat! I also love that it’s a space that I can be open, keep my family up-to-date on the happenings in my life, and document it all for myself!
3. Why did you start blogging?
We relocated to Wisconsin in January 2013. From May 2011 to that point, I lived in 2 other states, had a couple different jobs, got married, got a puppy, whew. It was just a lot. And dang it, I wish I would’ve kept better track of it all. I had some real emotional highs and some of the lowest of lows and the only way to remember it is to remember it. I wish I had a blog to look back on – because lord knows my memory is flippin’ terrible.
4. What is something you’d want to tell someone just starting out in the blog world?
There are going to be days when you think you don’t have anything worth-while to say, and maybe that day, you really don’t. But, hang in there, because you’d be surprised what “reaches” other people. Random things I’ve written about have generated some really positive response.
5. Biggest blogging learning experience you’ve had?
This is tough. I don’t know, I’ve been learning lots of little things here and there, but I haven’t really had a “whoa” moment. I’m sure my time will come where someone chews my ass out in a comment, but it hasn’t happened yet. But, when it does, I’m sure I’ll have some sort of learning experience.
6. What are three blogs you love?
Wifessionals – Kaitlyn is so honest. She is expecting her first child (a little girl!) and as I move towards thinking I want a family, I’m über interested in what she posts about.
Yes, I Want Cake – I don’t think that Katie or her daughter, Adrienne, could be any more adorable. I love the interviews she does with Adrienne. Not to mention she has some super delicious recipes. Oh, AND she is beginning to home school, which is something I’ve been contemplating, should we have kids. Is that enough reasons to love her and her blog?
Racing Bananas – Yeah, Kim is my best friend. No, that isn’t the only reason I’m listing it. Blogging together has made us closer. And despite the fact I feel so close to Kim already, most days I learn something new about her through her blog posts. Her journey is inspiring and I admire her resilience as she battles injury to accomplish a major goal of hers: the half marathon. She’s definitely helped me “keep on keepin’ on.”
